WORDS OF PEACE LETTERING PROJECT

Words of Peace began the moment I read it and shared it with one of my Third grade team members, Debbie Yee Vollmer. My class has just finished an extensive study of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We had read many books about him and discussed his life. We read parts of his Dream speech and compare his dream to our own.

My students completed the student with an art project of printmaking around Dr. King's Dream speech. They, they wrote their own Dream speech. Each student has a laminated 11 x17 paper with Dr. King's speech and their own sppech decorated in border with their prints of figures they made They each read their Dream speech, as well.

Words of Peace is a most perfect avenue to follow after this study. Mrs. Vollmer and myself sent it home as a family project. They are all excited to participate in world wide Peace project. As their teachers, we couldn't be more proud.

We would also like the project to be viewed in March but need assurance that their work will join the rest of the project in its tour for Peace. Thank you

.

Sincerely ,
