Beautiful Hearts

To go to the Fort Mason classes, I use the Muni Buses 47 or 49 in Van Ness since I leave my car at the BART Station. It's expensive to park downtown and also the traffic is tight. I need a ride back to the BART station to go home back to South San Francisco and some of my calligraphy classmates have been giving me a free ride back to BART For their thoughtful and beautiful hearts, I thank them from the bottom, middle,upper part of my ventricles, my heart. I remember Afi Efuru who had to attend a conference and she was too tired going to class but she told me, "But Elizabeth won't have a ride back to BART, I need to come back and attend the class.".What a kind and gorgeous heart to think I wouldn't have a ride. I could always use the Muni Bus Line 28 to go back to Daly City Station and then back to San Bruno station

for making me have faith in love that husbands still bother to make their wives happy. Quietly, in a corner he sits in a chair , reading a book for three hours while his wife Flora takes calligraphy classes. He drives Flora to classes every time and helps in setting up tables.

for baking cookies,brownies, cakes .and sharing these goodies and drinks to the Fort Mason calligraphy students, not only one time but week after week. Laura spoils us with her cooking.

Gene Handa

I remember kindness in action. Since I was a new member in 2001, I didn't know him. But after the 2002 Annual Christmas party at Berkeley, I experienced his thoughtfulness. I've an awful sense of directions and I usually get lost. So I blurted out my problem coming to the party because of an ongoing construction. It was still daylight. How much more when it was night time? Gene said, "Follow me. I'll lead the way."

I drove slowly and when I thought I had lost Gene, I saw him parked at the side waiting for my car to pass by. He made sure I got home alright. Thanks a billion Gene for your beautiful heart.
